26. Traveling by camper van (Part 2): The issue of defecation.

I woke up in the early morning, and to be honest, I really like this time of day. With few people around, the silence, and the sounds of nature like birds singing, it's not busy and the air is good. I woke up feeling like this was a really comfortable sleep for my first time sleeping outside in a car, especially since I was so close to the train tracks. Hearing the train go by and feeling the vibration as I was just waking up in the early morning, and knowing that my first night sleeping in a public place had gone well, made me feel even better and more confident in this method. I got up to brush my teeth, wash my face, and use the public restroom.

          Here, staff come to open the restrooms at exactly 5 AM, which is the time they set. In fact, I make a special effort to use the restroom in the morning because I believe, and have experienced firsthand, that a thorough bowel movement in the morning can bring freshness and a feeling of invigoration to the body, which can greatly influence the mind throughout the day. Therefore, I make a special effort for this activity, even if on some days I have to go to the restroom two or three times in the morning if I feel I haven't finished. From a personal perspective, I feel it's quite reasonable. Since we spend about 1-2 hours a day eating, spending about half an hour eliminating isn't too long. The technique I use to help make it easier to go is...

          1. I wake up immediately when I regain consciousness in the morning, which for me is usually between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM when my body is in a normal state. I feel that if I stay in bed even after regaining consciousness, it will make it harder to have a bowel movement later, as if the driving force has diminished. So, the best thing to do is to get up as soon as you regain consciousness. However, there are rare occasions when I might need to sleep longer because I went to bed late.

2. When I wake up, I immediately grab a drink of water. I always keep water close by before I go to bed. I'm not sure who told me this technique first; it might have been my mother. But what's certain is that I've heard many people tell me this technique. Water is likely to help with bowel movements, which is good for digestion.

3. When I start to feel the urge to go, I'll go to the bathroom, and during that time, I'll look for something to read on my phone. For me, if it's in English or maps, it helps me go better. I can't say for sure what causes this, but I think it might be a task that requires a certain level of concentration. Sometimes I might play music with lyrics and sing along, or if I don't have my phone with me, I'll always bring a book or something to read. For this point, I think it depends on the individual, as each person might have different techniques, and for some, no technique at all might be necessary.

4. Once I'm done with the first round of defecating, I would go out and make coffee. In cases like this, when traveling in a car, the heat energy I used came from a small picnic gas stove. The method was very simple: just add a little more water to the kettle than we need for brewing coffee, because some of it might evaporate while the water is heating up. While waiting for the water to boil, I would prepare to scoop coffee into cups. In my case, drinking warm coffee also helps with bowel movements.

And these are all the techniques I use to help with bowel movements in the morning. I place quite a bit of importance on this activity because I feel it affects the overall systems in my body, as well as my mood and energy levels throughout the day. Feeling clear and light in my stomach makes me feel refreshed and confident. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, another easy way to aid bowel movements is to eat fruits and vegetables in balance with the amount of carbohydrates and meat as much as possible. In fact, this might be the most important aspect of this topic. Simply put, if possible, you should have vegetables or fruits to eat with every meal, and yogurt milk also helps.
